Community Initiatives

One of the ways we seek to bring transformation to our local neighbourhood is through community initiatives – both as a church family and through supporting other Christian activity in Bishop’s Stortford.

Canal adoption

Our Church Centre backs directly onto the Stort Navigation, providing natural links with the canal & the waterways community. A church member is one of the Waterways Chaplains. With the agreement of the Canal & River Trust, we have informally ‘adopted’ approximately one mile of the canal from Bishop’s Stortford town centre to South Mill Lock.

Elliot Court

The Church has visited Elliott Court, a retirement home in the town, for many years. Our monthly themed visits are well received and provide an invaluable ministry to the residents. We seek to engage with the people living there, and our home made cakes are always welcome! We look to be Christian witnesses displaying our faith in action & words.

Exchange

Exchange is a place for people to pass on things they don’t need to people who do.

Our opening policy has changed in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. Please contact us on 07955 140293 to find out more.

Items currently available: clothing (for babies, children, young people and adults), toys, games, children’s books, baby equipment, household goods, carpets and some furniture. If you need something particular or are travelling a long way, please phone beforehand to check what is available.

Puppets Galore!

Puppets Galore! takes the good news of Jesus to local children. Through lively and entertaining puppet presentations using energetic songs, the message of the Bible is brought to life in local schools and churches.
