Get involved in this year’s Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal

It’s that time of year when we need to start thinking about packing shoeboxes as part of Operation Christmas Child.

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to show God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Since 1990, more than 178 million children in over 160 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child.

How to respond

This year, due to Covid-19 restrictions, you will need to supply your own shoebox, print your own label and ensure you pack the items outlined in the following link:

If you would prefer, you can donate £20 to Samaritan’s Purse online and they will pack and send a shoebox on your behalf.

We are delighted that we are going to be acting as a Covid-safe drop-off point. The Baptist Church Centre will be open on certain days (dates and times to be advised) in the week of 6 December (please contact the Church Office from 3 December to clarify).

As an alternative, The Entertainer shop in Jackson Square is also acting as a drop-off/collection point.

By joining in with the Shoebox Appeal, you’ll be playing your part in showing God’s love to children who wouldn’t otherwise have any gifts at Christmas time, especially in the current circumstances. Thank you for your support! If you have any questions, please contact Janet Ashby via the Church Office.
