The 40 days of purpose campaign was developed by Pastor Rick Warren, of Saddleback Church, USA, and is based on his best-selling book "The Purpose Driven Life". Everybody who signs up to the campaign will be given a copy of the book which has 40 short chapters, designed for one to be read each day. Each week addresses one of the five purposes for our lives and gives a linked memory verse:
This is the real heart of the campaign, when people can focus personally on the principles behind it. Wherever we are on our walk with God, we all need to spend time with Him, to learn from His word and to listen for His voice. During the campaign period, the daily devotional time will challenge us all to reflect more deeply on the themes of the campaign and to apply biblical truth in our daily lives. The intention and prayer behind this is that in this way, people will experience the transforming power of the living God.

All elements of the campaign are combined through a programme based around personal devotion. This is the real heart of the journey. The goal is to encourage everyone to think about God's purposes for their lives on a daily basis.
